What is Bowen Therapy?

WHAT IS BOWEN THERAPY? - HOW DOES IT WORK? - IS IT NEW? - WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

Bowen Therapy is a series of gentle moves on the muscle and Connective tissue along the whole body using the thumb and fingers. There is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue and the treatment is very gentle, subtle and relaxing. The gentleness and non-invasiveness is what makes it so unique.

AS BOWEN THERAPY IS NOT MASSAGE, oils are not used. The technique feels very gentle, but it works!

By increasing the circulation to the muscles and improving the efficiency of the Lymphatic system It can be performed through light, loose fitting
clothing or directly on the skin.

It is safe and effective for people of all ages and allows your Body to help heal itself In many cases long standing pain can be relieved in 2-3 treatments.
Treatment sessions can last from 10 to 50 minutes, and can be performed sitting, standing or lying.

Mr. Thomas, (Tom) Bowen (1916-1982) spent his life developing this Gentle, unique technique for relief of pain and balancing a range of conditions in Geelong, Australia, where he held his practice.

He was dedicated to this non-intrusive therapy and was well known for His commitment in treating the disabled and the young.

In 1975, an Australian government survey on natural therapies, (The Webb Report), revealed that Tom Bowen treated around 13,000 patients Per year with a success rate of more than 80%.

Thank you "Tom" for such a marvellous legacy
